POLICIES, PROCEDURES & GUIDELINES
TEACHER POLICY
We will provide the best suited teacher for each class.
We reserve the right to replace a teacher at any time without notice as a result of other commitments.
Teacher's are only employed for there time at the studio, they are under no obligation to reply to messages via SMS or social media, communication must go through the management team or authorised crew pages.
Any concerns regarding our teachers may not be discussed before, during or after class with the teacher and must be directed to the management team - speak to Bronte or Alicia if available or contact us via our feedback form on the site menu.
CLASS ATTIRE
Appropriate dance shoes must be worn for all classes, no dancing in socks.
Appropriate clothing must be worn. e.g - shorts or track pants, t-shirt or Hoodie. Must be able to dance in it.
All students should bring their own water bottle to class.
NEWSLETTER AND NOTICEBOARD
Newsletters and important notices are sent out via email, pinned on our noticeboard and available on our website.
Other updates and smaller pieces of information will be posted on our Facebook and Instagram pages.
It is Parents/caregivers and students responsibility to read the termly newsletters and regularly check the noticeboard.
HEALTH AND SAFETY
We are not liable for personal injuries sustained or any loss of, or damage to, personal property whilst on the premises.
We aim to provide a safe environment to reduce the risk of injury. It should be recognized by all students, parents/guardians that dance by its very nature carries a risk of injury or accident.
It is the responsibility of the student, parents/guardians to notify the teacher in the event of an injury or medical condition prior to class.
A first aid kit is available to any student. We do not dispense Panadol, pain relief or medication to any students. (Unless special arrangements have been made.)
The students are under supervision whilst in class time only. Teachers and staff are not responsible for students outside their allocated class time and children in waiting areas must be supervised.
For safety reasons, students must be collected from the property. It is the responsibility of the parent/guardian to ensure their student does not wait outside the premises.
Fire/earthquake safety - In the event of an emergency, students are to follow their teacher’s instructions and walk to assemble in front of the building.
PHOTOGRAPHY & VIDEOING
We take videos and photos regularly of students in classes for a vast range of reasons, it is part of the nature of being a dance studio.
Images or video footage of students may be used for marketing and website purposes.
Please make the office aware if you do not wish for your child to appear in any photos or videos.
BEHAVIORAL EXPECTATIONS
All students are expected so show up on time for class each week with appropriate attire.
Any damage done to the building/property or equipment will be the individuals financial responsibility. You will be required to pay for any repairs necessary as a result of the incident.
All students and parents/caregivers must show respect towards the teacher at all times during the class. If you are having ANY issues with your teacher or another student, please come and discuss with or email the management team immediately.
CHOREOGRAPHY
Choreography for classes, performances and competitions remain the creative property of Zion Dance Studios. Choreography must not be copied or used without prior permission from Zion and the specific Teacher.
Students who leave the studio are not permitted to perform choreography that was developed specifically for them by Zion teachers as a solo or as part of a team/group without prior permission.
PRIVACY ACT
The registration process collects personal information about students. Under the Privacy Act 1993 you are entitled to have access to, and request correction of,your/your child's information at any time. It is held at Zion Dance Studios office, at 95a Sawyers Arms Road, Christchurch, New Zealand.
DISMISSAL
Zion Dance Studios maintains the right to dismiss any student who breaches any of the stated expectations, damages property or causes severe disruptions to any classes. The decision is at the discretion of the Zion Management Team.
